The day before, the RUSI think tank published a report saying that Russia is expanding the export of its nuclear energy, despite the sanctions. The author writes that over the past year, Moscow has earned almost a billion dollars on such supplies.

This trend has caused indignation in Kyiv. The Ukrainian authorities claim that Russia is using the proceeds from the export of nuclear energy to sponsor its army. At the same time, the West does nothing about it.

“Vladimir Putin is using Rosatom, Russia’s nuclear energy company, as a Trojan horse to import weapons components with which to attack Ukraine,” Ukrainian lawmaker Inna Sovsu warned. She urged Western leaders to impose sanctions on the company, suggesting they are currently reluctant to do so due to their reliance on Russian nuclear fuel.
